Advocacy & Influence

Max Fordham are signatories to Building Services Engineers Declare

Max Fordham works towards system change through directly influencing their own projects as well as knowledge sharing with the industry.

They encourage all their clients to build and operate net zero carbon buildings; on relevant projects, Max Fordham now includes a free zero carbon design service. As part of this free service they provide a net zero carbon workshop and will undertake a number of analyses to provide clients with a clear understanding of the impact of their design decisions and provide pragmatic and sensible routes to making their buildings net zero carbon.

Also, Max Fordham encourages knowledge sharing with their clients and collaborators through offering presentations on the approach to net zero carbon and the design and delivery steps to get there. The annual research budget allocated for their engineers to use internally is now being focused on net zero carbon buildings and is used to continually improving knowledge.

MF: Net Zero is Max Fordham’s open-source resource; providing information and resources to help others understand the carbon impact of the buildings they design and operate and to share insights from their work and research. Max Fordham are also knowledge sharing through engagement with organisations such as CIBSE, LETI, and the NLA.

Max Fordham are now working towards setting scope 3 emissions targets; having recently established a travel data reporting methodology they are now establishing their baseline emissions.
